Chapter 1393
Seeing his daughter collapsed on the floor, Mr. Fay was terrified.
He rushed over in just a few strides, scooped her up, and bolted out of the office. "Call an ambulance!" he
shouted. One of the nearby employees quickly dialed 911, and within minutes, an ambulance was at the building
entrance.
Mr. Fay rode with his daughter to the hospital, anxiously pacing outside the emergency room, his worry
mounting. She was his only child, his greatest treasure. If anything happened to her, he didn't know how he or
his wife would cope. Just the thought alone was overwhelming.
Lost in his thoughts, he nearly jumped when the doctor approached. He grabbed the doctor's shoulders, his voice
frantic, "Doctor, how's my daughter? What's wrong with her?"

The doctor glanced at Mr. Fay's grip, considering stepping back, but the desperation in his eyes was
unmistakable.
With a deep sigh, the doctor replied, "Your daughter's fine, Mr. Fay. She just had low blood sugar. She's recently
pregnant, so she's supporting two heartbeats. She'll need to eat a bit more to keep her strength up."
Mr. Fay's eyes widened in shock. Pregnant?
This likely meant the child was Eugene's. Mr. Fay had already made up his mind that someone as calculating as
Eugene, willing to do whatever it took to get his way, was not a fit for Lydia. He couldn't allow them to be
together.
But now, Lydia was pregnant. After just losing one child, undergoing another termination would be heartbreaking
and physically demanding. Raising the child alone was something their family could manage, but knowing
Eugene, he wouldn't hesitate to fight for custody. With a heavy heart, Mr. Fay went to see his daughter.
"Dad, you look so worried. I'm starting to think I've got sterrible illness," Lydia joked from her hospital bed,
her face a bit pale.
He looked at her, but didn't say anything, his expression serious.
Lydia's smile faded, and her tone grew more concerned. "Wait, you're not joking, are you? Am | really sick? | feel
fine, and I'm not ready to die yet!"
"You're not dying," he reassured her, sighing heavily. "But you are pregnant. So... what are we going to do about
this?"
Lydia froze, initially thinking her

"Sweetheart, would | joke about something like this?" Mr. Fay wanted to tap Ker on the head for being so
slow to believe him, but he didn't
have the heart to.
Lydia's disbelief lingered until the test results were handed to her. She stared down, reading them over and over,
unable to process it fully.
"Eugene is impulsive. If he finds out
you're pregnant, he'll do whatever it takes to pressure you into staying with him Mr. Fay began cautiously. "And
when the child grows up, they'll want a father. You'll never really be free of him. | think maybe it's best if you
don't go through with this."
Mr. Fay's heart ached, but he felt the weight of this decision pressing down on him.
