Chapter 72 The fact that Vincent was absent the entire night gnawed at Kelly, leaving her restless and worried on the living room couch.
As day broke, she reached for her phone and called Alex.
"Kelly?" Alex answered after a few rings.
The familiar way Alex addressed her made Kelly frown slightly.
They had worked together before, and even though she was now Vincent's woman, Alex hadn't changed his casual tone or added a respectful title when speaking to her. Pushing aside her unease, she asked, "Alex, is Mr. Lewis with you?" "Mr. Lewis?" Alex paused for a moment.

Is he with you discussing business?" "Oh... Mr. Lewis isn't with me. He did have a very important project to handle last night. Maybe it kept him up too late to chome." "I see." Kelly's voice was thoughtful.
"Well, if that's all, I'll hang up now," Alex said.
"Wait... Alex, how was the chicken soup yesterday?" A brief pause stretched over the line. "It was good." "Really? I was worried it might be too salty. Did you like the herbs?" "It was good," Alex repeated, his voice unwavering, as though he genuinely remembered the soup's taste.
"Is that so? Well, that's a relief." Kelly's tone faded. "Alright then. Goodbye." As the call ended, her smile disappeared. She hadn't added any herbs to the chicken soup. Her question had been a test, and Alex had failed.
If he'd truly tasted the soup, how could he miss such an obvious detail? He was lying! As for why he'd lied, the reason was even simpler-he had given the chicken soup to someone else.
Flashbacks of the scene at the office yesterday flooded her mind. Vincent had offered the soup to Tiffany right before her eyes.
Tiffany had declined, saying she didn't like it, but maybe that was just because Kelly had been there..
Perhaps she would've been happy to have it if Kelly hadn't been around! With this thought, Kelly couldn't stay calm any longer. She took out her phone and called Vincent again.. "Sorry, the number you have dialed is out of service. Please try again later." en Hanging up, she immediately dialed Tiffany's number.
"Sorry, the number you have dialed is out of service. Please try again later." The sautomated message echoed in her ears, and Kelly's heart sank.
She quickly called Ivy and asked, "Ivy, can you sendthe number of that new intern?" "You mean Brianna? What do you need her number for?" "I just have squestions for her," Kelly said.
"About what? I can just ask for you!" Ivy's nosiness was relentless.

However, Kelly kept her cards close to her chest. No matter how much Ivy prodded, she didn't reveal a thing. Finally, Ivy relented and sent her Brianna's number.
Kelly wasted no tand called Brianna.
As soon as Brianna answered, her overly enthusiastic voice crackled through the phone.
the phone. Ms. Harrison! YMS.
Whatan unexpected call! Is there something wrong?"
"Brianna, I just wanted to confirm something. You mentioned yesterday that Tiffany still lives in the dorms, E right?" "Yes, that's right. May I ask why you're asking?"
