Isolde explained, “Michelle and | are like fire and water now, yet she pretended to reconcile withand insisted
on coming to the church with me. If | didn’t find her behavior fishy, | would be too dumb.
A burly man beside Milton urged, “Quit chitchatting. Kill her, and we'll be on our way.”
Isolde recognized this man. His nwas Paul Beard, and he was the deputy commander of the Garrison of
Argentum. He was not under Milton, yet he was leaving with Milton now.
Isolde scanned the group and noticed that a few of them were from the Garrison of Argentum. Only two of them
were soldiers who were under Milton.
Isolde had been on the battlefield before, so she recognized most warriors who had made a nfor
themselves.
Daisy and Paul looked a little similar. Isolde guessed that they were father and daughter.
Milton stretched out hand to stop Paul from charging forward. He stared at Isolde and asked, “Enlighten me. Why
do you keep targeting me?”
Isolde said coldly, “Soldiers are supposed to be loyal, but you only care about fighting for power and profit. You
embezzled funds and formed alliances for personal gain. Think about how you got your position. How many
people have died for you? How many things have you taken credit for? “Also, if you didn’t end up in this
mess, | believe you and David would have started plotting against Doug, right?”
Milton gasped. He wondered how Isolde knew about his plan.
He had committed the crof deceiving the King in the past by claiming all credit as his own.
After Milton and David moved up in rank, Doug had been keeping an eye on them. Doug went to the south to
investigate this case, eventually reaching Shadowmere. Doug had committed countless atrocities over the
past two years.
Therefore, Milton and David could only rest easy after they killed Doug.
However, they had been carrying out their plan in secret.
Since Isolde knew about his plan, it meant that Doug was aware of it too.
Milton broke out in a cold sweat. Fortunately, he had escaped from prison. Otherwise, even if he revealed the
names of his accomplices, he would not be able to use that as a bargaining chip to escape the death
sentence.

Isolde aside, and kicked Milton in the chest. Milton was forced to take a few steps back.
Milton was slightly surprised to see that the two maidservants were skillful. He sneered. “As expected, you're
prepared.”
Isolde raised her whip and said coldly. “Hattie and Hazel, take care of the rest of them. Marshal Blackwell is a
relative of mine. Il entertain him personally.”
“Understood!” Hattie and Hazel replied before splitting up to fight the other henchmen and Daisy.

Isolde said nothing. She calmly took a few steps and attacked Milton with her whip.
Milton responded with his sword. He blocked the brandishing whip without fail.

Both Isolde and Milton wanted to kill each other. Therefore, neither of them held back. They used only killing
moves.
The smell of blood and the sound of battle cries filled the ravine.
Milton and Isolde kicked up dust and dried leaves as they moved around.
As Isolde was well-prepared and familiar with Milton's fighting style, she handled his attacks very calmly. On the
other hand, Milton kept worrying that reinforcements for Isolde would soon arrive and was in a hurry to kill her.
His attacks were chaotic since he was impatient, putting him at a disadvantage.
However, after fighting for a while, his patience returned. Milton realized that the reinforcements would have
already arrived if there were any.
Milton figured that Isolde had most likely prepared reinforcements around the Church of Paemis and not here
since she didn’t know earlier that they would be coming to the Church of Wealdir.
He was shocked when he saw his men being forced to retreat under the attacks of the two maidservants. He
wondered where Isolde recruited such skillful experts.
He could tell that his men would be defeated by the Goodwin sisters in less than 100 moves. He would not have
a chance of escaping if the maidservants joined hands with Isolde to attack him.
Therefore, Milton pretended to retreat and lured Isolde to chase after him.
Isolde pursued him.
The thirst for blood loomed over the Church of Wealdir. Isolde’s whip and Milton's swords touched. countless
times, each with the urge to slash through their opponents. Milton and Isolde moved around. nimbly. The others
could not spot them clearly and could only differentiate them based on their figures and clothes.
Isolde and Milton were on par with each other.
Milton began to feel anxious. He initially thought that he would have the upper hand once he separated Isolde
and her maidservants since Isolde was strong but lacked actual combat experience. He thought Isolde would
panic without the girls around her, and thus giving herself away.
To Milton’s dismay, Isolde seemed to be a seasoned fighter from her fighting style and response. In sct, she
seemed so well-experienced that she could predict his next move and counter it in advance. Milto forced to
cup with steps in order to keep the battle going.
However, because of this, his attack speed slowed down. Isolde’s whip attacks becmore and more
overbearing for him.
Milton wanted to end things quickly. The longer he dragged this battle out, the worse it would be for him. Milton
was worried that the two maidservants would soon cand join Isolde.
He would surely die if all three of them joined forces against him.
Suddenly, Milton threw the longsword in his hand at Isolde. Isolde jumped up and stepped on the sword. Her
whip swiftly swung towards Milton's head.

With a flash, Milton unleashed a row of silver needles. He laughed sinisterly and shouted, Isolde Langley. go to
hell
More than 10 poisonous needles flew towards Isolde. She would lose all her strength and die almost instantly if
she was hit by any one of the needles.
With a swing of the whip, Isolde managed to sweep away most of the poisonous needles. However, Isolde’s
armpit was stabbed by a needle.
Isolde fell to the ground with a thud. She also dropped her whip. Her body twitched, and she spat out a mouthful
of blood. She looked at Milton in shock. “You... You used poison?”
Milton laughed sinisterly and lifted his sword with one foot. He approached Isolde and said coldly, “You want to
kill me? You're inexperienced. Now die.”
He raised his sword and was about to stab it into Isolde’s chest.
Suddenly, something flashed before Milton's eyes. He cursed. He then saw Isolde sneering. He felt a chill in his
chest, followed by a warm feeling-
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmBlood spurted out from his chest and splattered all over Isolde’s face and body.
The pain took away all the strength in his body, but Milton still gritted his teeth and stabbed down fiercely with
his sword.
Isolde rolled away from his final attack and stood up. Her face was covered in blood as she looked at Milton
coldly.
Milton asked while gasping in agony, “You... You're not poisoned?” His sword was stabbed into the ground. He
knelt on one knee and tried to endure the pain.
Isolde had a cold smile on her face. Her hair was messy, and she seemed thirsty for blood. She said, “Tricks and
deceptions are your expertise. Taste of your own medicine today. You can die now.”
Milton fell to the ground. His body twitched a few times. He was reluctant to die at the hands of Isolde. He would
rather die at the hands of the King or Doug.
Sscenes flashed before his eyes. He saw himself get rid of Doug and execute him for treason. His hands
were stained with Doug’s blood. It was such a satisfying scene.
Milton's eyes were wide open as he looked at the clear sky. His chest was no longer heaving.
Isolde watched as Milton breathed his last. She felt both pain and satisfaction.
In the past, she did not manage to take revenge on Milton for killing her master, Doug. Now that had traveled
back in time, she finally killed Milton before he could harm Doug.
The schMilton executed in Isolde’s past was not something short-term. He had planned for years in order to
accuse Doug of treason.
Isolde slowly knelt down and looked at Milton. He looked hideous even after dying. She laughed out loud, and
eventually, one of her tears wet Milton's face.
She believed she was a scumbag previously.
She could have avenged Doug before she traveled back in time. However, she didn’t do so.
