Doug nodded in agreement and said, “Oliver's personality is indeed like what you described. He’s not in a hurry.
He’s about to be assigned to Wetinson to eliminate the raiders. His marriage will have to wait until when he
returns.”
Stunned, Isolde asked. “He’s going to Wetinson to eliminate the raiders?”
“Yes, Marquis of Eldermere won a great victory. The Thalvinarians who infiltrated previously fled to Wetinson,
causing great trouble for the locals there. There were not many troops stationed there, so the army didn’t
manage to subdue the Thalvinarians. Hence, the Ministry of War submitted a report, requesting the King to send
Oliver out to fight.”
Isolde recalled the sincident happening before she traveled back in time.
However, it was another marshal named James Smith who was sent to eliminate the raiders.
James never returned from that battle. He was plotted against and assassinated by bandits.
Isolde wondered why Oliver was the one who had to fight this battle this time.
Isolde’s head was in a mess. Logically speaking, it was understandable that the King decided to appoint Oliver to
handle this battle. However, it was suspicious for the Ministry of War to directly ask for Oliver in their report to
the King.
Seeing Isolde’s confusion, Doug explained nonchalantly, “Oliver was conferred the title of Great Marshal. Of
course, there are sgenerals in the court who don’t like him. They feel that Oliver relied on Marquis of
Eldermere’s support to begin with. Not everyone approves of Oliver's ability, so they want him to lead 1000 men
to fight the raiders to prove himself.”
#1000 men?” exclaimed Isolde with a frown. “If only 1000 men are needed to fight the raiders, why doesn’t the
court just send troops from the Wetinson military camp?”
Isolde found it ridiculous to send only 1000 men all the way from Argentum to Wetinson. The King had always
been wise. She wondered what had gotten into the King for him to agree to such a bizarre request from the
Ministry of War.
Doug said calmly, “The King has his plans.”
Isolde immediately knew that the King did not send Oliver to Wetinson just to fight the raiders. He most likely
assigned Oliver other secret missions. Fighting the raiders was just a cover.
“When is he leaving?” Isolde asked.
Doug replied, “About half a month later.”
This further confirmed Isolde’s guess.

Two days later, when Oliver was delivering medicine to Isolde, she asked about this.
Isolde asked, “Great Marshal, | heard you're going to Wetinson to subdue the bandits?”
Oliver raised his eyebrows and replied, “Yes. Did Doug tell you this?”
“Yes.” Isolde stared at him. After a moment of silence, she said, “Great Marshal, your trip to Wetinson this

Isolde said seriously, I'm serious. Be careful of the raiders’ traps. Things that seem harmless might be the most
dangerous.
Oliver initially thought that Isolde was just giving him generic advice. However, she emphasized her point
With a serious expression, Oliver said solemnly, “Alright. I'll remember your advice.”
Only then did Isolde relax. Believing that Oliver was much smarter and more cautious than Marshal Smith, Isolde
convinced herself that her worries might be groundless.
Oliver said. “By the way, when | arrived just now, | saw that Samiyah was also here. She said that she was
looking for Matilda.”
“Samiyah was looking for Matilda?” Isolde narrowed her eyes and thought out loud, “What's the point of meeting
Matilda when she should be asking others for help?”
At the very least, Matilda was quite unlikely to be able to save Milton.
“Is Milton being held in Southern Watch?” Isolde asked.
Oliver shook his head and said, “He has been transferred to the jail at Inspector High Court of Parliament. This
case is being investigated as an embezzlement case, so he'll have his first hearing at the Inspector High Court of
Parliament.”
Isolde combed through everything in her mind.
Then, she smiled knowingly.
She had figured out Milton's next step, and it most likely worked in her favor.
Isolde said, “Great Marshal, please go back and tell Doug to findtwo men. Hurry up and send them over
within these two days.
Oliver also felt that Isolde needed more bodyguards in her house, especially now that Vincenzo was not around.
After thinking for a moment, he said, “I don’t know who Doug wants to recommend to you, but | have some
suitable candidates. I'll bring them over tomorrow for you to meet them.”
When Isolde heard that Oliver wanted to send someone over, she said, “If you're feeling generous, | really want
to ask you for two of your men. Don’t worry. | won't keep them forever. When things are settled, I'll return them
to you. | won't snatch your capable underlings from you.”
Oliver asked, “Who do you want?”
Isolde replied, The Goodwin sisters.”
Oliver smiled and said. “I was thinking of them too.”
Isolde was very grateful. She said, “Thank you!”
Oliver looked Isolde in the eye and said, “Get better quickly. I'll wait for you to treatto a drink.”
“Alright. In less than five days, we'll be able to drink together. We'll even be able to drink to our heart's.

content” said Isolde with a grin.
Sensing something, Oliver urged, “If anything happens, tell me. Do not put yourself at risk.”
Isolde promised, “Alright. I'll tell you.”
The next day, Oliver sent the Goodwin sisters over.
The two of them were Oliver's maids. They looked ordinary and even weak.

However, Isolde had seen their fighting skills before she traveled back in tand was utterly shocked at their
prowess.
No one would have guessed how skillful they were unless they started attacking others.
“From now on, you two will follow Miss Langley and protect her well,” Oliver instructed Hattie and Hazel.
The girls replied, “Understood.
The two of them stood in front of Isolde and greeted her, “Greetings, Miss Langley.”
Isolde looked at the two of them as if she had obtained treasure.
She respected capable people from the bottom of her heart.
Life was peaceful for Isolde for the next three to four days.
Aside from Harlan occasionally coming over to update Isolde about Duke of Blackmoor’s meeting with Raine,
Isolde was able to enjoy her peace.
This morning, Oliver rushed over with a solemn expression.
“What happened?” Isolde asked.

“You s
should stay at hfor the tbeing. Milton escaped from prison,” Oliver said.
Isolde asked. “How did he escape?”
Oliver reported, “Last night, he killed two jailers and escaped. He was unarmed, but the lock was pried open. The
murder weapon he used was a poison needle.”
Isolde’s expression turned slightly strange as she asked, “He killed two people?”
“Yes.” Oliver studied Isolde’s expression and was suspicious. He asked, “Aren’t you surprised at all? Were you
expecting him to escape?”
Isolde paused for a moment before retorting. “How would | know?”
Oliver thought about it. Indeed, no one would have guessed that Milton, who had admitted to his crimes. would
escape from prison.
Oliver advised, “Anyway, be careful. He hates you and will definitely seek revenge on you.”
Isolde said Don’t worry. He won't be so stupid. Now that he has escaped from prison, he will definitely hide
somewhere. He won't be showing himself beforeopenly. What's the point of escaping from prison if he
appears nublicly?”

Oliver was not that optimistic. He warned. “He is cunning. Better be safe than sorry.”
“Alright, | know. Don’t worry.” Isolde nodded.

Oliver thought for a moment and suggested, “How about this? I'll assign a few more people to protect you.”
“With Hattic and Hazel around, do | still need anyone else?” asked Isolde with a chuckle.
Oliver looked at her in surprise. He asked, “You know that they know martial arts?”
Isolde smiled and retorted, “If I didn’t know, would | have asked you for them?”
Oliver said, “That's true. Doug must have told you about them.”
Isolde smiled without saying anything else.
Hattie and Hazel were the daughters of a subordinate of Douglas Valois. Douglas had saved this subordinate
to before. After Douglas and their father died in battle together, Hattie and Hazel pledged their loyalty
Oliver.
