Chapter 154
It was clear now-Graham had no intention of letting go of Scarlett.
Hailey’s expression turned icy as she shot Graham a sharp look.

“Well then, | won't keep you any longer, Hailey. | have sbusiness to attend to, Graham said, standing up and
heading for the door.
As she watched him leave, Hailey let out a quiet sigh of relief. She grabbed her phone and quickly sent a
message to Scarlett on WhatsApp: [He's gone.]
Scarlett didn’t reply for a long while.
“I helped you out, but you're not going to explain what's happening?” Owen sat down in front of her, his tone
casual yet
curious.
“This is Scarlett’s matter,” Hailey said coldly, her gaze unflinching. “Sorry, | can’t say anything.
Owen nodded in understanding, then suddenly glanced out the window. “But your friend... looks like she can’t
escape this one.”
Hailey followed his gaze and saw Scarlett standing outside the restaurant, already cornered by Graham.
Hailey muttered a curse before standing up and walking toward the door.
Owen followed, moving at a relaxed pace.
Scarlett’s beautiful face twisted with disgust outside the restaurant as she jerked her arm away from Graham's
grasp. “Are you done yet?”
Graham flashed a shameless smile. “Not yet.”
Scarlett was beyond annoyed. She had no feelings left for Graham whatsoever.
She was a woman who understood reality. From the start, she had pursued Graham not out of love, but for his
family’s wealth, connections, and striking looks.
And let's be honest, with his reputation as a notorious playboy, she felt comfortable making her move.
They both got what they wanted-she got his money, and he got her body. It was a simple arrangement meant to
end after three years-clean, final.

But when she brought out the contract and tried to end things, he dared to accuse her of being heartless,
claiming she was incapable of warmth.
It had made Scarlett laugh bitterly. She had tossed the contract at him. “Mr. Holman, we were just using each
other.”
That had nearly driven him mad. So, when Scarlett returned home, he followed her.
“Graham!” Hailey snapped, stepping in front of Scarlett, her face icy as she confronted him. “Enough. Can't you
see Scarlett doesn’t want you?”
A single, simple sentence made Graham's entire demeanor shift. His gaze darkened as he shot Hailey a
menacing look before turning his attention to Owen.
“Keep Scarlett under control,” he said with a venomous edge.

Owen shrugged innocently, signaling that he wasn’t in charge of her.

Hailey’s lips curled into a cold smile. “Graham, maybe you should start by taking care of your own business. You
didn’t value Scarlett when you had her. You ran around with other women, and now you have the nerve to claim
you love her? Don’t you have any shame?”
Graham's gaze locked onto Scarlett, intense and unwavering. “So, you still seeas nothing more than a
playboy?”
He stepped closer. “I've deleted every contact of those other women. Scarlett, you can check my phone
anytime.”
Scarlett rubbed her temples, clearly frustrated. “Mr. Holman, we're no longer involved. If you want a casual fling,
I'm open to that-after all, you've got the looks and the body for it.
But | think you've got the wrong person if you want something serious. There are plenty of young women out
there waiting

Hailey couldn't help but murmur, “Scarlett, you act like a heartbreaker.”
Scarlett’s response was almost too casual. “I've always been that way.”
“Scarlett!” Graham's face turned a shade darker with
anger.

Owen, watching the scene unfold, suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for Graham. He thought, ‘Poor Graham. To
be treated like nothing more than a casual fling by the woman he cares for... the feeling must be brutal.”
‘Maybe | should be feeling sorry for myself instead. After all, with Hailey, we're not even at the friends with
benefits stage yet!”
With a sigh, he looked at Hailey beside him, a touch of melancholy in his gaze.
Hailey shot Owen a confused glance. She wondered, ‘What's his problem now?”
Scarlett, feeling the conversation with Graham had already reached its limits, rubbed her temples in frustration.
“Hailey, you two should head back. The sun’s getting intense, and you don’t want to risk heatstroke. I'll handle
things here.”
Hailey hesitated, seeing the resolve in Scarlett’s eyes, before reluctantly nodding and taking Owen’s hand to
head back to the café.
Scarlett’s gaze lingered on Graham for a moment. “Let's go somewhere private. We need to talk.”
Graham nodded, and the two of them left in a car together.
Watching them leave, Hailey couldn’t shake the worry gnawing at her. She thought, ‘I have a bad feeling Scarlett
will get hurt. After all, Graham is no angel."
“Miss Dalton,” Owen said with an exaggerated sigh, glancing at Hailey, “Shouldn't you be feeling sorry for me?
At least they get to be close. Look at me-right now, I'm nothing but a side note.”
Hailey shot him a quick, exasperated look. “Mr. Calhoun, I've already made my feelings clear.”
Owen's eyes narrowed, a cold smirk creeping across his face. “And I've made mine clear, too. I'm not letting go.”
Hailey stopped short at his words, silently bracing herself. If he kept this up, she might have to say the thing she
didn’t want to-because the truth was, there was no future for them.
Just then, her phone rang. It was Raphael.
Hailey picked up the phone.

“Do you want to grab lunch together?” Raphael's voice was warm and inviting.
Hailey glanced at Owen, hesitated momentarily, then replied, “Sure. I'll be at the cafe. | was supposed to meet
Scarlett, but she had to leave early”
“Alright”
Owen raised an eyebrow, a sarcastic smirk playing at his lips. “So eager to go on a date with someone else?”
Hailey didn’t say a word, keeping her head down as she scrolled through her phone, deliberately shutting Owen
out,
Owen was on the verge of losing it. His frustration was boiling over, threatening to push him to the brink.
Owen thought, ‘I should drag her back to my place, lock her up, and teach her a lesson. But damn it, that’s not
the way to do it..
With a deep, frustrated breath, he had no choice but to swallow his anger.
Raphael arrived quickly, his composed and refined demeanor momentarily shifting when he spotted Owen. He
approached with a subtle smile. “Mr. Calhoun, what a coincidence.”
Owen's expression darkened. He couldn't help but respond with a cold laugh, “Not really. | chere with
Hailey.” Raphael maintained his composure. “Well, in that case, I'm sorry, Mr. Calhoun, but we're heading to
lunch now. Goodbye.” Owen gave a curt nod, then grabbed his coat and left the restaurant without a second
glance.

Hailey glanced in the rearview mirror and saw the familiar Bentley trailing behind them.
“Hailey, do you want to shake him off?” Raphael asked, his tone neutral.
