Chapter 845: Repaying a Meal from the Past Grandpa Langdon was momentarily startled but quickly let out a knowing smile.

If Tina could uncover the secrets of Jade Armour and Luke, how could she not have discovered Kylie Lambert's true identity? With a soft chuckle, he said, "That's right. Kylie Lambert. She's not my niece, as I've claimed-she's actually my biological daughter." To the Langdon family, he had always presented Kylie as the daughter of a distant cousin. No one suspected the truth. Kylie's mother was, without a doubt, the love of his life. Yet, he could never give her a proper status in his world.

It wasn't that he didn't want to-it was that he couldn't.

For years at the helm of the Langdon family, he knew better than anyone what kind of people surrounded him. His eldest son, Carl, was selfish, petty, and utterly ruthless. As for his younger son, Luke, he'd long considered him incompetent and narrow-minded.

If either of them discovered Kylie's true identity, she would never survive. In fact, Carl would likely kill her without hesitation.

Kylie, however, was born with a natural gift. Even as a child, her martial arts skills were extraordinary. Grandpa Langdon devised a plan to bring her into the family under the guise of being his niece, ensuring she was given the best of everything. But his kindness drew envy and malice from others.

Carl, in particular, couldn't stand her. While Grandpa Langdon was away, Carl severed Kylie's meridians, rendering her incapable of practicing martial arts. Worse, he assigned her a dangerous mission: to approach Jared. When Grandpa Langdon later learned of this, he was furious. He even considered killing Carl, but he held back. In his eyes, Carl was already unfit to inherit the Langdon family legacy, but as the eldest son, Carl's presence saved him from countless troubles. For now, Carl was untouchable.

He also knew that revealing Kylie's true identity would only ensure her death, and he still couldn't move against Carl. So, he played along, letting Kylie follow Carl's instructions.

In truth, he had another thought: if Kylie could win Jared's favor and the two of them beca couple, perhaps that would be the best way to protect her.

But he underestimated the bond between Jared and Tina. Their love was unshakable, like a mountain. Breaking them apart was nearly impossible.

Carl and Luke exchanged dark looks of resentment. They cursed the old man in their hearts, furious at this unexpected revelation.

Carl, especially, was furious with himself. If only he had investigated further and discovered that Kylie was Grandpa Langdon's biological daughter, he would have killed her outright instead of merely crippling her. To Carl, it was laughable. The old man had always pretended to care deeply for his mother, yet here he was, secretly fathering not one, but two illegitimate children. Who knew how many others might exist? What truly stung Carl was that, in a moment of crisis for the Langdon family, Grandpa Langdon chose to protect Kylie over his own sons.

Carl's hatred for Luke diminished slightly. After all, they were both pawns. Who was more righteous than the other? "She'll survive as long as she doesn't court death," Tina said coldly. "As for protecting her-your influence isn't enough to demand that." Grandpa Langdon sighed. "I know. Kylie has been seeking opportunities to harm you, but I'll speak to her. As for whether I have the authority... perhaps not. But what about your mother's influence?" Tina frowned. "What do you mean?" Her mother had never mentioned any connection to the Langdon family.

"Twenty-five years ago, I owed your mother a debt of gratitude for a meal. She promisedthat if the day ever cwhen I needed her help and she was able to provide it, she would repay that debt." Grandpa Langdon let out a self-deprecating laugh. "It's ironic. In my lifetime, I've spilled so much blood. Yet, for half a year, I sought solace in Buddhism. During that time, I found your mother unconscious in the mountains behind the Langdon estate. She had fainted from hunger, so I brought her back and gave her a meal." Turning to Tina, he continued, "The moment I saw you, I suspected you were her daughter. You look so much alike. Later, I confirmed it. What I didn't expect was that she would be lan's daughter." He paused before adding, "Back then, I didn't think much of it. But now, with the Langdon family on the brink of destruction, I have no choice but to call in that favor." Grandpa Langdon's voice grew softer. "Your mother is unconscious now, so you can't verify this. It's up to you to decide how to respond." "I believe you," Tina said without hesitation.

Grandpa Langdon was stunned. "You believe me?" Her answer took him by surprise.

Tina nodded. "My mother toldabout a Mr. Langdon who once gave her a meal. She never forgot that kindness." Natalie, like Tina, never liked owing anyone. They both remembered every debt, no matter how small, and repaid them when the opportunity arose.

When Natalie escaped GTO years ago, she was penniless, hunted, and on the verge of collapse. She fainted in the mountains, where Grandpa Langdon saved her.

Natalie had told Tina this story when she was very young. She had made it clear that if they ever encountered a Mr. Langdon who requested repayment, they must honor the debt if it was within their power. Grandpa Langdon was astonished. "I thought she was just being polite back then. I didn't expect her to hold onto it all these years." Tina didn't want to prolong the conversation. "The debt my mother owes, I'll repay on her behalf. From now on, if Kylie Lambert is in danger, I'll ensure her safety." "Good!" Grandpa Langdon exclaimed. "In that case, I have nothing more to say." Raising his voice, he addressed the Langdon family. "Everyone in the Langdon family, lay down your arms and surrender to the authorities!" He then turned to Luke. "I know you hate me. But there's no need for you to kill me. My tis nearly up. As for you..." Grandpa Langdon's voice turned cold. "You've committed heinous crimes. You're already on a path to death. I don't care if you die, but do you really want to drag your mother down with you?" Luke froze, his expression stiff.

"She's not part of the Langdon family," Grandpa Langdon continued.

her Bothing "What you've done has nothing to do her Hand Over the people Tina with her Hand by and Jared are looking for, and I'm sure they'll spare your mother." Luke hesitated before asking Tina and Jared, "Is that true?" Jared nodded. "It is." After a long pause, Luke relented. "Fine. I'll hand over Dorothy Russell." He pointed toward the back. "She's in the underground chamber beneath my room." Tina gave Hayden a look, and he nodded, heading off with Nathan and their team.

Turning to her other subordinates, Tina ordered, "Take all the Langdon family members into custody." With Grandpa Langdon's surrender, the Langdon family offered no resistance.

Meanwhile, Hayden soon returned with Dorothy Russell in tow.

The moment Dorothy saw Tina, she was shocked. "Tina? How did you findhere?"

Dorothy was still unaware of the Viddle Langdon family's downfall. She had been in the middle of researching an immortality serum when a group of people stormed in and apprehended her.

Though she had once been a had formidable fighter, her strength never fully recovered after being gravely injured by Tina. She stood no chance against her captors.
