Chapter 841: The Fool Who Delivers Himself for Free Carl wanted to say more, but Nathan didn't give him a chance. Without sparing him a glance, Nathan turned around and led his team to arrest members of the Langdon family. Carl's temples throbbed furiously. As the young master of the Langdon family, he felt his dignity being ground into the dirt.
"Tina, have you thought about the consequences of your actions?" Carl gritted his teeth as he glared at her. Hands in her pockets, Tina exuded an air of defiance. "I've never cared about consequences." Carl laughed bitterly, repeating "Good! Good! Good!" three times, his voice dripping with anger. "If you dare treat the Langdon family with such disdain, don't blme for what comes next!" His voice rose as he commanded loudly, "Langdon family, listen up! Go all out-attack! Anyone not from our family on Langdon land, their life or death doesn't matter!" The Langdon family, known for their arrogance, from the servants to the masters, had always looked down on outsiders. When Tina and Jared had stormed in with a government team, most of them had hesitated to resist due to the armed presence.
But now, with Carl's command, hesitation vanished. They charged at Tina's group without restraint.
In an instant, the two sides clashed fiercely.
Tina couldn't help but laugh. She turned to Jared, her grin impossible to conceal. "Uncle, can you believe there are such fools in this world? Delivering themselves to us for free!" Jared chuckled. "Free heads? How could we not take them?" He then glanced at Hayden and Nathan with a calm but warning tone. "Hayden, Nathan, if even one Langdon family member escapes today, you'll both be sent to work in the mines!" Hayden, energized as if injected with adrenaline, declared, "Mr. Farrell, don't worry! Mining won't be my fate!" Assaulting government officials, especially leaders of the security bureau, was a serious crime. Even without the evidence Serena and Jared held, the Langdon family would face lifelong imprisonment. And with Serena's stack of incriminating records, they were as good as done.

If even one Langdon family member escapes, I'll move into the mines myself!" With that, he and Hayden raised their guns and fired directly at one of the Langdon family combatants. One clean shot to the head.
The sound of the gunshot stunned the Langdon family into silence. None of them had expected Tina's team to actually fire.
Carl's fury surged to the point of no return. Although he had given the order to attack without regard for life or death, he hadn't expected Tina's group-government agents no less-to show no mercy. His side had even held back their hidden family abilities.
But now...
Carl glared coldly at Tina, his internal energy rising as an invisible ball of energy formed in his palm. Through clenched teeth, he growled, "You're asking for death!" He struck out, sending the energy ball hurtling toward Tina.
Tina merely raised her hand, swiping it casually in front of her. A transparent barrier appeared, shielding her and Jared.
Carl's attack landed on the barrier as though it had struck cotton. Tina and Jared didn't even flinch.
Carl froze in shock, staring at Tina in disbelief. "You... How do you know this?" Carl had known Tina possessed internal energy from their previous encounters. But for her to use special abilities-something he had never imagined.
Hidden abilities were the ultimate secret of the hidden families.
The world knew of the hidden families' mysterious techniques, such as retrieving objects from thin air or altering one's appearance. But their true secret was their abilities-powers that served as life-saving measures. These abilities were never revealed unless absolutely necessary, and not every member of a hidden family possessed them. Even among the smaller families, only a select few had such talents. For instance, the Lyon family lacked abilities entirely, whereas the Brookes family had them but had vowed never to use them again.
Carl, blinded by rage, had foolishly revealed his ability, assuming it would at least injure Tina and Jared severely, if not kill them outright.
But they stood there, unharmed and unbothered.

Tina looked at him calmly, her voice unhurried. "I forgot to mention, I picked up the hidden family's abilities as a hobby Turns out I'm a little better at it than you." Carl's mind reeled. "You think learning abilities is like... cooking? Something you can master on a whim?"
Tina had indeed picked it up on a whim. A while back, she had found an ancient manual written in the hidden family's language at Jasper Reed's place. She had taken it to Master Tam for translation, but even he had failed to decipher it. Later, while visiting the Hugo family, she had stumbled upon Zackary, Sophia, and Sally watching a TV about abilities. The show depicted a climactic battle between good and evil, with characters using abilities. To her surprise, the subtitles in the show matched the script in the manual.
She contacted the show's writer, hoping for help translating the manual. Unfortunately, the writer confessed that the ability chants and script were entirely made up-random keys mashed together on a keyboard because they "looked cool." ly made! Frustrated but curious, Tina had experimented with the chants she remembered from the show while holding the manual. To her astonishment, a surge of power had coursed through her body, and unfamiliar knowledge had flooded her mind. The manual, it turned out, was a comprehensive guide to mastering various abilities. Bored and intrigued, Tina began practicing. Within two months, she had fully mastered the abilities described in the manual.
In the eyes of the hidden families, abilities required innate talent and years of rigorous training. Each advancement in rank was exponentially harder than the last. Most ability users plateaued at Level 2, like Carl.
The highest known rank was Level 10, though Tina didn't know what lay beyond that. She hadn't bothered to find out.
But in just two months, she had reached Level 4.
For Tina, Carl-stuck at Level 2-was nothing more than a minor annoyance.
Carl's face turned ashen. He had no words.
