Chapter 270
Allison often found herself blushing uncontrollably when she felt embarrassed. Quickly, she shook her head,
denying it, "Oh, you've got it all wrong. This is just my business partner, not my boyfriend."
The handyman scratched his head awkwardly, "Sorry about that mix-up. | just figured he was your boyfriend. You
two really seem like a couple."
"No, no," Allison insisted again.
Watson stood quietly by her side, his expression a bit distant.
Allison gave him an apologetic glance, noticing the slight change in his demeanor, and said, feeling a bit
sheepish, "I didn't think the handyman would mix us up. I'm sorry if it caused you any trouble."
Watson chuckled, his tone teasing, "Are you really that keen to not be linked with me? You seemed pretty quick
to deny it."
"Huh?" Allison was a bit startled. "That's not what | meant. I just didn't want to cause you any hassle and didn't
want you to get the wrong idea."

Watson looked at her with a knowing grin, "Get the wrong idea about what?" Allison looked away, pressing her
lips together without saying a word.
It was as if Watson could read her thoughts, his voice carrying a playful edge, "Afraid I'd think you have a crush
on me?"
Allison's cheeks turned an even deeper shade of red, and she hesitantly admitted, "Yeah."
Watson found her reaction amusing, "Do | really coff as that full of myself?" "That's not what | meant."
Allison quickly explained, "I just... | heard from Sabrina and Olivia that a lot of girls are into you and have
confessed their feelings, but you turned them down. | thought maybe because you're so popular, any romantic
interest from others might annoy you, so | was worried you'd get the wrong idea about me... and then not want
to partner up. Do you get what | mean?"
Watson watched as she earnestly explained, then suddenly burst out laughing. Allison looked puzzled, "What's so
funny?"
Watson's laughter was like a warm spring breeze, inviting and pleasant.
His charm was different from Joshua's.
Joshua was like a distant star, stunning but unreachable, keeping people at a distance.
Watson was like the gentle warmth of a spring day, friendly and approachable.
Watson said, "I just find it cute how seriously you're trying to convinceyou're not into me."
"But really, you don't need to explain. | know you're not interested in me."
Allison blinked, "Huh?"
He had known for a while.
That was the thought running through Watson's mind.
He almost couldn't resist asking her.
Do you really not rememberat all?
But he held back.
Asking might mess up their chance to work together.
After showing Watson around the newly renovated law office, it was tfor lunch.

Watson smiled warmly, "How about | treat you to lunch? My business partner."
Allison agreed without a second thought, "Sure."
She was totally in work mode, not
even thinking about the fact that it was Valentine's Day. She planned to go over their partnership during lunch
and get the contract signed.
This was Allison's first official meat with her business partner, so she decided it should be a bit formal. She
picked a nearby upscale restaurant.
As Allison and Watson walked into the restaurant, she unexpectedly bumped into someone familiar.
Joshua was there, dressed in a
classic black suit. Even the
attire couldn't hide his elormaret
demeanor and striking look
His gaze lingered on Allison for a few moments before discreetly shifting to Watson, standing behind her.
