Chapter 265
Allison had been up to her neck in work lately.
She was knee-deep in scouting locations and hiring staff. After sifting through countless options, she finally
snagged an entire floor in the bustling heart of Oak Lake for her law firm's office. She named her venture Owens
Legal Services.
According to the rulebook, law firm partners need at least three years of experience. Lucky for her, Allison had
already clocked in three years at Havenbrook and another six months at Summit & Vale Solicitors in Oak Lake.
But tracking down other suitable partners? Now, that was a whole different ball game.
Her cousin Shawn had tried to help by introducing her to sof Oak Lake's top- tier attorneys, but the snag
was, most of them had already set up shop on their own, and the law doesn't let lawyers double-dip with two

So, hunting down partners had shot to the top of her to-do list.
One afternoon, Allison was enjoying tea with her two besties at Bvlgari.
Hearing about Allison's new venture, Olivia perked up with a suggestion. "Remember Watson?" Olivia asked. "He
was in our year, from the Law and Politics University nearby."
Allison, Sabrina, and Olivia had all attended Lakeside College, one of the top- notch schools in the country. The
neighboring Law and Politics University was no slouch either, ranking just below the prestigious law university in
the capital.
Allison paused, "Watson? The nsounds familiar, but | can't quite place him."
Sabrina clapped her hands on the table, "Seriously? You don't remember Watson? He was the heartthrob next
door. Everyone was always comparing him to Joshua. You really don't remember him?"
Allison racked her brain, then shrugged, "Honestly, | don't recall. You know | wasn't into that scene and wasn't
big on socializing. What's a campus heartthrob got to do with me?"
"Fair point," Sabrina said, rolling her eyes. "You were such a bookworm, always buried in your studies. While
others were out dating on weekends, you were nestled away in the library. Every guy who confessed their love
got a big fat no, and you didn't have a single romance throughout college. With your family's wealth, you didn't
even need to work that hard."
Olivia chuckled, "Allie has her own dreams. Business wasn't her thing; she was all about becoming a top lawyer."
"But back to Watson, he was definitely easy on the eyes," Sabrina sighed. "I had a thing for him for a bit, but he
wasn't intoat all. | was a mess for three days after he turneddown."

Allison laughed, "Really? When did that happen? How c| never heard about
it?"
Sabrina muttered, "It was
embarrassing. Getting turned down isn't exactly something you shout from the rooftops. But, honestly, every girl
who confessed to Watson could line up from the schoobgate to France. Getting rejected by him isn't too
shameful."
Allison playfully teased, "You're contradicting yourself. First, it's embarrassing, then it's not."
"Oh, quit being so literal," Sabrina laughed, giving Allison a light slap on the arm.
"Here, letshow you his picture. He really is handsome! No wonder | liked him. There's a reason those girls
always compared him to Joshua. In all these years, he's the only one | know whose looks could give Joshua a run
for his money." Content belongs to
