Chapter 251
After landing the big deal with Infinique Ventures, Pierce celebrated with a few extra drinks at lunch and crashed
the moment he got back to the hotel.
With the afternoon wide open, Allison had stto herself. Southern Ridge, a coastal gem, was a hotspot for
tourists. Her hotel was perched right by the sea, and offered stunning views of the deep blue ocean and the soft,
golden sands.
The afternoon heat cranked up to nearly ninety degrees. Allison spent it lounging around her hotel room,
catching up on smuch-needed rest. As the sun began its descent, she slipped into a breezy tank top and
shorts, applied sunscreen, donned her sunglasses, and made her way to the beach.
This stretch of sand was private, reserved for hotel guests only, so it was blissfully uncrowded. Allison settled
into a lounge chair under a big umbrella, took off her sunglasses, and let her thoughts drift away as she gazed at
the endless expanse of water.

The setting sun kissed the horizon, painting the sky in shades of orange and gold. The sea sparkled like it had
been dusted with diamonds, creating a scene straight out of a dream. A gentle sea breeze, carrying a hint of salt,
swept in, chasing away the lingering heat.
Allison leaned back in her chair, soaking in the peacefulness of the beachside sunset. She felt completely at
ease, a sensation she hadn't felt in what seemed like forever, given how hectic her recent days had been.
"Hey there, are you here alone?" A man's voice interrupted her reverie not long after she settled in.
Allison kept her face neutral, not even glancing his way. "Married with two kids. My husband's back at the hotel
with them."
Instead of backing off, the guy seemed even more intrigued. He moved in closer, giving her a once-over with a
sleazy grin. "Wow, a mom of two and still looking this good."
Allison continued to ignore him.
He edged even closer, practically invading her space. "Your husband's not around. Want to have sfun?"
Allison shot him a look of pure disdain. "Scram."
One word, sharp and to the point.
"Feisty, aren't you?" he taunted, still undeterred. "I like a girl with sfire."
Just as Allison was about to stand
up and give him a piece of her mind, the guy was suddenly sent sprawling to the sand with a swift kick. "Where'd
this creep come
Ka"
Allison turned to see who her unexpected savior was and frowned. What was Shawn doing here?

The guy scrambled up, cursing, and lunged at Shawn. But standing at six foot one with a gym-honed physique,
Shawn easily overpowered the scrawny man, who was barely five foot seven. Defeated, the guy fled. sw
Shawn dusted himself off and turned to Allison. "Allie, you okay?" Allison kept her expression icy. "What are you
doing here?"
Shawn settled into the chair next to hers. He had, of course, slipped someone at Allison's law firm a little cash to
find out where she'd be.
Shawn feigned innocence. "Oak Lake's been freezing lately. | cdown to Southern Ridge for ssun. What a
coincidence, staying at the shotel as you. Are you here
for a vacation too?"
Allison didn't waste tdissecting his story. Whether he was really on vacation or
had followed her, it didn't matter.
She replied coolly, "None of your business."
"Oh, by the way, did you hear? Joshua's in Southern Ridge too, and he's got that actress with him."
