Chapter 214
The cold wind whistled through the bullet holes. Allison huddled up tight, shaking with fear. She had just had
another close call with death. At that moment, she felt Chris' murderous intent as if it were etched in the air.
Chris had the audacity to brandish a gun right here; he was truly a madman!
In the chaos, Joshua remained cool and focused. "They cready," he said, his voice steady yet quick. "Allie,
stay down and don't move."
He'd underestimated them. Joshua thought he had lost them, but they had caught up. Allie had nearly been hit.
His brow furrowed, and his eyes burned with a fierce determination.
Joshua floored the accelerator, expertly spinning the steering wheel, the car weaving in and out of lanes like a
dancer, narrowly dodging a bullet aimed at him. A loud "bang" sounded as a bullet shattered the side mirror,

Allison was tossed around, her body swaying with the car's movements. Behind the Bugatti, two cars were
closing in: a sleek black Aston Martin and a silver Porsche 918, both trying to box them in. A man in the
Porsche's passenger seat was armed with a heavy sniper rifle the source of the earlier shots.
Joshua eased off the gas just a bit. With one hand on the wheel, he grabbed a gun from beside him, loading it
smoothly with one hand. Normally, he wouldn't have a gun in the car, but he had prepared for Chris' antics.
As the Aston Martin drew alongside the Bugatti, Joshua suddenly slowed down, aligning the cars. In a split
second, he raised his gun and fired, the bullet zipping through the window gap. The Aston Martin's window
shattered, and although the passenger seat was empty, the bullet found its mark, causing the driver to lose
control and crash into the guardrail.
The front of the Aston Martin crumpled, sending black smoke billowing into the air. The Porsche 918, seeing its
companion in trouble, slowed down, its driver clearly rattled. Joshua seized the opportunity, firing a few shots at
the Porsche, his aim unwavering. The bullets pierced the windshield, forcing the driver into a frantic panic, losing
control and careening off the guardrail, plunging down the cliff.
Allison stayed tow, oblivious to the chaos outside. She only felt the car slow down briefly, followed by a

crash. It sounded like a car had slammed into the guardrail. Despite the chaos, she kept her head down, not
daring to move.

The Bugatti finally broke free from its pursuers, speeding away. Once was sure they were safe, he relaxed.
"Alright, Allie, you can get up now." .

Joshua shook his head. "He wouldn't show up personally. The shooter was probably one of his mercenaries from
South America."
Allison, still shaken and covered in cold sweat, whispered, "He really is a madman."
Joshua felt a wave of guilt wash over him. "I'm sorry, Allie. Being withhas put you in danger again."
Maybe it was tto seriously consider what Javier had suggested...
