Chapter 191
Lillian suddenly lifted her head, her cheeks still streaked with tears, and her eyes filled with pain. Joshua had just
confessed his feelings to Allison in front of
everyone!
Allison was taken aback. She'd been on edge, hearing the murmurs around her. She worried Joshua might, as the
whispers suggested, side with Lillian. Now, Allison felt a wave of reassurance. The warmth from Joshua's strong
hand, holding hers, gave her a comforting strength. Her heart began to settle, and her nerves calmed.
Emily, however, was anything but calm. Joshua's public declaration felt like a slap in the face to her. Trembling
with anger, she said, "Joshua, you can't do this here..."
"Miss, the footage is ready," a waiter interrupted, handing a USB drive to Allison. All eyes turned to the USB in
the waiter's hand, eager to see the truth.

Allison took the USB and addressed the crowd, "Ladies and gentlemen, please joinon the fifth floor in the
screening room. The truth will soon cto light." Lillian's palms were sweating from nerves. She bit her lip,
trying to maintain her cool. "Allison, I've already apologized. Why can't you just let it go?"
"Was that really a sincere apology?" Allison shot her a cold glance. "I don't accept it."
Lillian kept deflecting, "Think about the guests, not just yourself. This hall is huge, and there are so many people.
Can the screening room even fit everyone?"
Allison smirked, "Don't worry, Ms. Lillian. The screening room upstairs can hold a thousand people. No need for
you to worry."
Lillian's face tightened as she scrambled for another excuse. Sabrina watched her with arms crossed, amused.
"Oh my, is someone feeling guilty and afraid to go?"
Lillian gritted her teeth. "I'm not guilty. | just don't want to waste everyone's time. It's just a misunderstanding.
There's no need to make a big deal out of it."
Sabrina laughed, "I never said you were guilty, Ms. Lillian. You're the one jumping to conclusions. You seem
awfully anxious."
"Anyone interested in joiningin the screening room, please head to the fifth floor," Allison said calmly.
Emily spoke again, "You are not behaving like a proper lady from a distinguished family. It's just a dress that got
dirty. I'll pay for it on Lillian's behalf. There's no need to make a scene by watching the footage. We're family. Do
not blow this out of proportion."
Sabrina rolled her eyes, thinking, 'This meddling old lady is always picking on Allie. She forbids her from calling
her grandma at family gatherings, and now she talks about family to keep things quiet."
Allison had informed her best friends of the grievances she suffered at the Fisher family gatherings. Sabrina was
deeply displeased with Emily and her adopted granddaughter.
Javier was outside in the garden discussing business with important clients, unaware of the commotion inside.
Lizzy had caught the flu and was in the hospital, with Linda by her side, so they couldn't attend the gathering.

Allison's defense.
Allison had expected to be alone against Lillian's bullying, but she hadn't
anticipated Sabrina and Joshua stepping in to support her so fiercely.
"Grandma, what do you think a proper lady should be like?" Joshua's voice was
cold. "Should she let others walk all over her without a word?"
The matriarch looked incredulous. "Joshua, what are you saying? Are you
implying that Lillian and | are bullying her?"
"Isn't that the case?" Joshua's eyes were icy. "The dirty dress was a small matter, but Lillian immediately blamed
Allie for not watching where she walked. Allie's request to check the footage is reasonable, yet you're accusing
her of making a fuss. Today, | insist on viewing that footage. | won't let you bully my wife right in front of me."
