Chapter 174
As soon as Joshua stepped out of the car, the driver respectfully informed him, "Sir, Thomas just called and said
he urgently needs to reach you, but your phone seemed to be off."
Joshua quickly masked the gentleness in his eyes and ended the call with Allison. Almost immediately, Thomas"

Joshua answered with a cold, steady tone, "What's going on?"
Thomas' voice was tense, a slight tremor betraying his nerves. "Sir, it's bad news. Our people just reported that
Sue's father jumped from the hospital building... | think it's more than just coincidence... And the team searching
for Greg's mom also reported..."
Joshua's eyes narrowed, his voice icy. "Reported what?"
"They said that Greg's mother was found at home, dead from carbon monoxide poisoning..."
A sharp glint flashed in Joshua's eyes. "Is there any chance of saving her?"
Thomas replied, his voice shaky, "By the tthey found her, it was too late."
A chilling light flickered in Joshua's eyes, his voice as cold as ice. "Thomas, if you don't get to the bottom of this

Thomas replied fearfully, "Yes, sir..."
The next morning, Allison was woken by a persistent knock on her door. At first, the "knock knock" felt like part
of her dream, and it went on for a while.
Gradually waking up, Allison realized the knocking was real—someone was actually at her door. 'Who on earth is
knocking this early?"
She'd had a late night and her mind was heavy with worries. Being dragged from her sleep left her, quite
uncharacteristically, in a foul mood.
Allison got out of bed, slipped on sfuzzy slippers, and shuffled to the door. She yawned, and opened it lazily,
"Who is it?"
As she rubbed her sleepy eyes, she was greeted by the sight of Shawn's annoying face.
Shawn held up a bag with a cheerful grin. "Allison, | brought you breakfast. Remember, you have low blood
sugar, so don't skip it."
"Are you out of your mind?" Allison snapped, instantly awake and clearly irritated.
Shawn didn't flinch, holding up the bag. "I brought your favorite eggs Benedict and cinnamon rolls."
"Bang—" Allison slammed the door, shutting out his irritating face.
Shawn stood there, momentarily stunned, his smile frozen. He
knocked again, calling out, "Allison, con! Be mad at me, ignore me, but don't skip breakfast. Just take it
inside, please."
Allison was fuming. Why was this guy so persistent?
She shouted through the door, "Shawn, beat it! If you keep this up, I'm calling the cops!"
The noise outside stopped. After a moment, Shawn said, "I'll leave the breakfast at your door. Make sure to eat
it."
Allison rolled her eyes and headed back to bed, hoping for a little more sleep. But with her mind buzzing, falling
back asleep was tough.
After tossing and turning, she sighed, frustrated, and ran her fingers through her hair before getting up to wash
up.
Meanwhile...

The bodyguard nodded respectfully, "Yes, sir."
Joshua walked up to Allison's door and knocked. No response. He patiently knocked again.
"Shawn, haven't you had enough? I'm really going to call the police!" Allison shouted as she flung the door open.
Joshua was taken aback. Their eyes met, and confusion flickered in Joshua's deep eyes. "Shawn?"
