Chapter 166
Peyton was crying so hard she could barely get the words out. "I... I..."
Joy gently patted Peyton's back, trying to calm her down. "Ms. Allison, her brother is in the hospital right now. It's
definitely a work injury, but the factory hasn't given him any compensation. His boss just handed him two
months" salary and let him go. Now London's been laid off, and there's no sign of any disability or medical
benefits."
Peyton's tears kept flowing. "I know I don't have much tleft, but my brother's got his whole life ahead of him.
He's spent everything he earned on my treatments, and now the factory's not paying up. He can barely manage
my hospital bills. Ms. Allison, I'm begging you, please help us."
Allison felt so sorry for her. She reassured Peyton, "I get the situation now. Please don't cry. Can you taketo
the hospital to see your brother?"
"Yes, yes!" Peyton nodded eagerly, "I'll take you there."
Meanwhile, over at Lakeside Residences.

"Mr. Shawn, what do you think of this apartment?" The real estate agent, dressed in a sharp black suit, asked
with a smile.
He'd just shown Shawn several places in the building. Judging by Mr. Shawn's expression, this one seemed to be
his favorite.
With his hands in his pockets, Shawn looked around and gave a slight nod, "This one's pretty good. I'll take it."
The agent was thrilled and quickly pulled out the sales contract. "Would you like to sign the contract now?" "Yes,
please."
"Fantastic!" The agent handed the contract to Shawn with a big grin.
Shawn took the contract, sat down on the couch, flipped through it quickly, then picked up a pen and signed.
Last time, Lillian had given him a business card. He reached out to that contact, and sure enough, they invested
a hefty sum in Reynolds Enterprises. With the funds in place, the company's projects got back on track, and
before long, Reynolds Enterprises was back in business.
Money wasn't a worry anymore.
Shawn decided to buy a place in Allison's neighborhood to be closer to her.
This community was developed a few years back, and because of
prlocation, the homesse
fast. There weren't any new
left.

The apartment Shawn bought was a resale, but the previous owner hardly lived there, so it was in great shape,
almost like new.
After signing the contract, Shawn paid in full right there.
Once the agent left, he took a good look around the apartment. It was a cozy two-bedroom, one-living-room
setup with a big balcony. Although he wasn't crazy about the decor, he decided not to renovate so he could
move in sooner.

Feeling pretty pleased with himself, Shawn lounged on the sofa with a playful smile on his face.
‘Allison, we're going to be neighbors now," he thought.
Peyton sat in Allison's Bentley, looking nervous, not knowing where to put her hands and feet.
Peyton gently tugged on Joy's sleeve. "Joy."
"What's up?"
She leaned in close and whispered, "Is Ms. Allison's car really expensive?"
Her eyes were downcast, focusing on her toes, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.
It was raining today, and the roads were muddy. Peyton's white canvas shoes, which had been washed so often
that they turned faded, were splattered with mud, the tips darkened.
Joy followed her gaze and noticed how Peyton's left foot softly rubbed against her right, a clear sign of her
discomfort.
