Chapter 163
He gently nudged Allison towards the bathroom. "Con, Allie, freshen up a bit first."
After getting ready, Allison settled at the dining table. Joshua had whipped up a delicious spread: scrambled
eggs, salt and pepper pork ribs, spicy shrimp, and a hearty chicken soup—all of Allison's favorites. Her stomach
was growling since she'd skipped breakfast, and the face wash had woken her up completely.
She eagerly picked up her fork and started digging in. Joshua sat across from her, watching with amusement and
affection dancing in his eyes.
"Is it good?" he asked softly.
"Mmm, absolutely!" Allison nodded with enthusiasm. "Your cooking always hits the spot, Joshua."
"Make sure you eat, too," Allison said warmly. "I don't want you going hungry."
"Allie," Joshua's voice held a playful note.
"Yeah? What's going on?" she asked, staring at him curiously.
Joshua chuckled, a warmth in his gaze. "You already filledup last night. Now it's my turn to make sure you're
full."

"Oops—cough, cough..." Allison choked on her soup, coughing as her cheeks flushed bright red. "You..." she
stammered, biting her lip in embarrassment. "Why would you say something like that!" Joshua laughed softly,
full of affection. "Alright, alright, I'll drop it. Enjoy your meal."
At Lillian's private villa, the atmosphere was tense.
"Miss, Sue was taken by Mr. Joshua's men," a man in a black bodyguard outfit reported, bowing his head
respectfully to Lillian.
"Why couldn't those idiots kill her?" Lillian's eyes flashed dangerously as she gritted her teeth. "Bunch of fools!"
"Yes," the bodyguard responded mechanically, like a robot.
Lillian suddenly turned, glaring at him. "You're useless too! Idiot!"
"Yes, ma'am."
Lillian was fuming. "Get out!" She grabbed a nearby mug and hurled it at him.
"Yes, ma'am." The bodyguard replied, exiting the room.
Once he was gone, Lillian's gaze turned cold as she stared at the shattered pieces on the floor. She pulled out
her phone and sent a text.
Lillian: [Joshua has found Sue. What's the next step?]
The reply cswiftly: [Sending someone to deal with it.]
Lillian: [Needto do anything?]
[No, just sit tight. It won't be traced back to you.]
After the meal, Allison's face was still a bit flushed as she tried to shoo Joshua out.
She nudged him towards the door. ‘Alright, Joshua, you should head out now, I've got plans to go shopping with
Sabrina and Olivia this afternoon. No tto hang out today."
Joshua pouted, staying put. "Are you already tired of me?"
Standing nearly six foot three, Joshua was a towering presence that Allison couldn't easily budge.
She pouted back, instinctively

slipping into a playful tone. "Oh, it's not like that: How could | ever get tired of you, Joshua? I already promised
them yesterday. It's a girls' day Qut. Not really a place for you, right?"
Joshua raised an eyebrow. "Why not? | could carry your bags. You girls will probably buy a lot, right? How much
can you carry by yourself?"

Allison stomped her foot lightly. "Oh, con, just go. | need to get ready, and | can't fuss around with you right
now."
Joshua's eyes twinkled with amusement. "I could help with your makeup."
Allison chuckled, exasperated. "As if you'd know how."
"Okay, okay, I'll catch up with you tonight, alright?" Allison coaxed, her voice softening as if soothing a child.
"Promise?"
Allison nodded. "Promise, | wouldn't lie to you."
Joshua sighed, giving in. "Fine, callwhen you're done shopping, and I'll cpick you up."
"Deal."
Over at Olivia's villa, the laughter was nearly deafening.
Half an hour earlier, the girls had somehow veered their chat to the night Allison had gotten tipsy and caused
a scene, and the topic had taken on a life of its own.
"Hahaha, Allie, no need to be shy!
We're all friends here. Spill the beans-does Joshua really have... issues?" Sabrina was laughing so hard she
clutched her stomach, and tears streamed down her face. "Haha, Olivia, you should've heard it! My brother told
Allie, you're a riot!"
