Chapter 152

Joshua stood close behind Allison, wrapping his arms snugly around her waist. "Allie, I've got you," he whispered

softly.

Allison felt a bit awkward; she'd never needed help just to freshen up before. She grabbed her cup, filled it with

water, and squeezed out stoothpaste. Whenever she traveled, she always packed her own toiletries and

disposable bed linens.

As she brushed her teeth, Joshua stayed right behind, his arms still around her. In the mirror, their bodies

seemed perfectly matched.

She glanced at his reflection, noticing two dark reddish hickeys on his neck, a reminder of their passionate night

together. As she recalled those intimate moments, her cheeks flushed a rosy pink.

Joshua caught the change in her expression and smiled. "What's on your mind?" he asked.

"Nothing," Allison replied quickly, her eyes darting away, feeling a little guilty for getting caught up in her

thoughts.

A few minutes later, after she'd finished, Joshua gently turned her to face him and leaned in for a playful sniff.

"You smell amazing, sweetheart."

Embarrassed, Allison blushed. "You've got a new nicknforevery minute."

Joshua's smile was soft, his voice deep and inviting. "You don't like it?"

Still blushing, Allison lowered her gaze and kept quiet, her face a vivid shade of red.

Joshua's eyes darkened with a hint of desire, his voice turning husky. "You're adorable when you blush. | want a

kiss." He tapped his lips playfully.

Obediently, Allison leaned in, pressing a quick, feather-light kiss on his lips.

"Good girl," Joshua murmured, clearly satisfied.

Last night had been quite something, and today he decided a kiss would be enough. They had sex twice last

night, but each thad been quite thorough, leaving her feeling a bit out of sorts today. He didn't want to rush

things. After all, they had all the tin the world.

Joshua gently guided Allison out of the bathroom. "Let's ease into the day. We'll build a snowman later."

With a soft, barely audible "okay," Allison agreed, her cheeks still flushed.

Even after their closeness the night before, talking about it in daylight made her shy, especially with Joshua's

knowing looks. Her mind kept replaying the scenes from last night, when the warmth of shared passion, breaths

mingling as waves of desire washed over her.

Breakfast at Harper's Grove was delightful, with sweet pastries perfectly complementing savory bacon and eggs.

After breakfast, Allison was eager to play in the snow and snap sphotos. She spent over an hour on her

makeup, letting her softly curled hair fath naturally over her shoulders, and slipped into a thick, creamy white

down jacket.

Joshua wrapped a burgundy scarf around her neck. "It's chilly out, wear this."

The bed and breakfast had a lovely courtyard, where fragrant winter heath and bold red camellias bloomed,

standing out beautifully against the snow.

Nearby, a young couple was busy building a snowman, with a line of tiny, uniquely shaped snowmen set on the

low stone wall.

Allison walked over and exclaimed, "Wow, these little snowmen are adorable! Can | take a picture with them?"

The girl laughed, "Of course you can."

Allison's eyes sparkled with delight. "Thank you."

She waved Joshua over. "Joshua, can you take sphotos? Make sure to get the little snowmen in the shot."

Equipped with a professional DSLR, Joshua adjusted the settings and aimed the camera at Allison.

The sky had cleared, and the gentle

sunshine cast a warm glow.

Through the lens, Allison's smile

was bright and radiant like springet

with the row of tiny snowmen.

behind her looking like a group of charming little elves.
