Chapter 119
Shawn got out of his car and flicked away the last of his cigarette, but instead of calming him down, it only
seemed to crank up the frustration simmering inside him. He hopped into his car again and headed back to the
hotel.
As he swung open the door to his room, he yanked at his tie, frustration etched on his face. He tossed his jacket
onto the hook behind the door and glanced up, only to freeze in his tracks.
Right smack in the middle of the room, sprawled across the big bed, was Kate. She was draped in a black lace
slip dress, her body lounging seductively on the sheets.
"Shawn, you're back," she purred, her voice as smooth as silk, eyes pulling him in like a magnet.
The scene was a temptation he could feel in his bones, heat rushing through him as his mind filled with chaos.
Despite the whirlwind inside, he tried to keep his cool, though his face showed his annoyance. "What are you
doing here?"
Kate's eyes were pure mischief. "I was waiting for you."

"Get out!" Shawn's voice was cold. His brow knotted in irritation.
"No," she replied, her voice dripping with allure.
She got up with a graceful sway and sauntered over, grabbing his tie with a flirtatious grin. Her breath felt warm
against his ear. "Shawn, I'm staying with you tonight."
Shawn tried to push Kate away,
but she held fast, pulling him down into a kiss.
He let out a low groan, not putting up a fight.
The room's atmosphere heated up quickly.
Shawn switched gears, going from defensive to offensive, sweeping Kate up and tossing her onto the bed with a
rough edge to his movements.
The night was a whirlwind of passion and indulgence.
The next morning, Shawn woke up naturally, and the sight of Kate's face so close jolted him awake.
He bolted upright, his voice sharp with anger. "What are you doing here?"
Kate blushed, her voice sweet. "Shawn, we had a wild night. You couldn't get enough of me, and now you've
forgotten everything?"
Shawn was at a loss for words.
His eyes landed on the clothes and shredded black stockings scattered on the floor, and the chaos of last night
rushed back to him.
Muttering a curse, Shawn got up to get dressed.
"Shawn, where are you going?" Kate tried to hold him back.
"Let go!" Shawn snapped, shaking off her hand. "I'm telling you, don't pull this again. My heart's with Allison
now!"
Kate chuckled, "Your heart's with Allison? You seemed pretty happy withlast night. Why are you denying your
feelings for me? You still like me, don't you?"

Shawn shot her a withering look. "Don't you know men can keep love and desire separate? When | was with you,
| was thinking of Allison the whole time. Why else would | have been with you so many times?"
"You..." Kate's face went pale. "Shawn, you jerk!"
Shawn pulled a clean shirt from the closet and slipped it on. "I thought you've realized that by now."
He laughed at himself, a hint of bitterness in his smile. "If | weren't a jerk, would | have been with you before
breaking up with Allison? Would | have lost Allison?"
Kate's laughter cunexpectedly.
"So you knew all along," she mocked, her eyes glinting with sarcasm. "You're really disgusting."
At Fisher Corporation, i
n the CEO's office, Joshua's brow was furrowed. "Any news? Have we figured out who took Sue that day?" John
gave his report. "From the surveillance, it looks like the screw that nabbed Lizzy at the engagement party
took Sue.
"We found out Sue's been smuggled overseas, but we still can't pin down who took her. The private detective
and the police haven't made any headway. Every lead we get vanishes into thin air, leaving us at a dead end."
